Interurban data collection, analysis and monitoring

Offering a complete picture of the road traffic status, the data collection system identifies a variety of different vehicle traffic parameters: speed, vehicle classification by length, traffic intensity, and level of occupancy, as well as, time and distance difference between consecutive vehicles.

The collected data can be sent disaggregated in real time or aggregated periodically. Also, the local process capacity allows for the system to send processed or filtered data, reducing processing tasks on higher management system levels. The data can be stored locally, ensuring that no information will be lost in case of communication losses and the system can be integrated with any ITS platform using the main commercial communication protocols.

  • Accuracy above 98% in counting and 95% in classification and speed, even in complex situations such as:
    • Vehicles changing lane
    • Magnetic shadows generated by heavy vehicles
    • High levels of congestion
    • Extreme weather conditions

  • Self-calibration of detection thresholds. The system is not affected by structures in the road, so it can be installed in tunnels, areas close to metro lines, train rails and railway stations, as well as, underground electricity supply networks.

The Interurban Traffic Data solution is required in the ITS field for the road traffic management , which covers the monitoring, regulation and control of the vehicle traffic in order to ensure safety, minimise congestion and optimise the use of the material and human resources, as well as the effective operational communication between the different highway sections.
