City traffic data collection, analysis and monitoring

Offering a complete picture of the city traffic status, the data collection system identifies a variety of different vehicle traffic parameters: speed, vehicle classification by length, traffic intensity, and level of occupancy, as well as, time and distance difference between consecutive vehicles.

The collected data is being processed locally and thus, can be easily integrated to external traffic management systems, allowing for a great range of traffic management applications. Thanks to the Fog Computing technology, the data received from the wireless magnetic sensors is being directly processed, filtered and stored in the Data Processing Station itself, before it is sent to local servers, Traffic Control Centres or cloud based platforms in open data formats.
